"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."
"I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope." -Shawshank Redemption
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Mel, I love reading your thoughts and seeing all those new pictures. What a great pair the two of you are!
I don't even know my new address yet. but in a week i'll be there, and i'll read it right off the building and send it over asap.
I have things to send you too. The problem is getting the chance to actually send them.
Soon my friend, Soon.
love you.
My Mel,
i'm listening for the hope bird; I know he's in there, perched in the soul.
my email doesn't seem to be working this morning, so i couldn't write to say THANK YOU for the beautiful beautiful lyrics, and 'rule for it' and the picture. That picture stirred my heart too. why do you think that is?? something about it...
as soon as my email works again i will get to actually LISTEN to the songs.
your comments on my blog...are my sentiments exactly. i wish we were together so i could express that better. Running partners at a distance; only in Christ can such a thing be so possible and so wonderful.
you are wonderful too. i luv you forever.
